De familie telt slechts \u00e9\u00e9n geslacht, <em>Hyliota<\/em>, met een paar soorten. Deze vogels zijn klein, actief en worden vaak aangetroffen in boomkruinen van bossen en savannes. Ze lijken qua gedrag op mezen of vliegenvangers en foerageren op insecten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lange tijd was hun taxonomische positie onzeker, maar tegenwoordig worden ze erkend als een aparte familie.
